Fresno Unified has significantly reduced the number of items we stock in our warehouse however we have not elected to close our warehouse or eliminate positions. Instead, the warehouse has evolved into a hybrid model focusing on service to the sites.  Added services include:

  • Centralized receiving of orders
    • alleviates office manager work
    • expedites receiving and payment to the vendors
    • process and clear order discrepancies
  • Textbook inventory management and distribution
    • transfer $1M worth of books per year instead of buying more
  • Centralized paper shredding (free to sites)
  • Allows us to support departments (i.e., Technology, Special Ed, Early Learning, Curriculum, etc.) with special projects on a larger scale
  • Opened additional warehouse to support the new central kitchen
    • Serving and delivering 98,000 meals per day
